BIÑAN, Laguna — The Philippines’ growing role in the global electronics manufacturing industry received another boost as Interconnect Cable Technologies Corporation (ICTC) inaugurated its expanded production facility at Laguna Technopark Phase 7 on October 23.

The new facility marks a significant milestone for the US-founded electronics manufacturer, which has steadily expanded its Philippine operations since entering the country in 2015 with just one engineer. Today, its local workforce has grown to more than 100 employees.

Established in Brooksville, Florida, in 1988, ICTC specializes in cable and wire harness assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and electronic box builds. Its international operations span the United States, China, and the Philippines.

The Laguna expansion provides additional manufacturing capacity and introduces a more flexible production environment designed to accommodate different product specifications and smaller production runs.

According to company officials, the investment will enable ICTC Philippines to serve existing customers more efficiently while pursuing new business opportunities in the electronics sector.

The Philippine team transferred its operations to the new building in June, completing the transition without interrupting production.

The facility features surface-mount technology assembly, inspection equipment, and testing systems that support the company's commitment to manufacturing quality. ICTC Philippines secured ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2018 and continues to invest in employee training and internationally recognized electronics assembly standards.

ICTC Global CEO Sareet Majumdar said the company's expansion reflects its commitment to bringing more advanced manufacturing opportunities to Filipino workers.

He emphasized that the country's skilled workforce remains a major strength in attracting investments and developing globally competitive manufacturing operations.

Biñan City Mayor Angelo Alonte welcomed the development, noting that investments in manufacturing can create employment opportunities, strengthen local talent, and contribute to economic growth.

The inauguration, themed “SINAYA: Where New Beginnings Shape the Future,” also highlighted the company's plans for the next three to five years.

These include greater automation, digital production systems, and improved product traceability to enhance efficiency and quality control.

ICTC is also exploring opportunities in medical devices, high-end consumer electronics, and commercial and industrial applications.

The company aims to help customers establish more localized supply chains across the region, potentially reducing dependence on distant manufacturing centers.

With its expanded Laguna operations, ICTC is positioning the Philippines to handle increasingly complex electronics manufacturing requirements while supporting the country's ambitions to become a more competitive player in the global technology supply chain.
